Dry Needling Certification
In 2025, the West Virginia Chiropractic Society will provide approved programs for those wanting to be certified in Dry Needling throughout the year.The WVCS Dry Needling Certification was the first approved by the WV Chiropractic Board of Examiners and the first class was held recently and others will be scheduled very soon. Each program is limited to no more than twelve (12) participants and initial registrations are reserved for WVCS members. If spots remain in the programs, slots will be opened up for others to participate.
WV Chiropractic Board of Examiners Dry Needling Policy (announced January 2025)
The WV Chiropractic BOE recently updated its policy regarding Dry Needling as follows:
1) Licensee must complete a course approved by the West Virginia Board of Chiropractic. The course must include at a minimum of 24 hours of in-person instruction and cover topics such as proper hygiene, needle use and patient selection.
*The WVCS Dry Needling Certification Program has met all standards set by the WV Chiropractic BOE and is an approved program.
2) Licensee must be able to provide written documentation of their training, including certification.
3) Licensee must perform dry needling directly and not delegate it to others.
